About Community Outpatients

Community Outpatients have been delivering community based specialist care with a focus on prompt assessment and treatment since 2006.

Since then we have gained a reputation for providing hospital-quality care closer to patients’ homes, enabling easy access to Dermatology, Cardiology, ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) and Ultrasound services from over 150 sites across the UK.

Our flexible approach to service delivery, integrating with local healthcare providers and use of innovative technologies and systems enables patients to receive high quality care in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.

We work closely with the 40+ CCGs that have commissioned our services to deliver significant cost-savings, ease the pressures on secondary care and considerably reduce referral to treatment times. Across all our services waiting times for first appointments are within 4-6 weeks, with around 85-90% of presentations managed entirely within the community.

We also support a number of hospitals nationally either as an overflow service, front-end services to alleviate waiting list pressures, or in a far more significant way coordinating and delivering a Tier 3-4 ‘hospital recovery service’. Our services are easily adaptable to the particular requirements of the Trust enabling fast relief of backlogs and ongoing innovative solutions and support.

The service received was impeccable from receiving an appointment very quickly after referral to fast efficient friendly service on the day. Thank you.

The operations and clinical team have worked tirelessly for nearly a year to transform the service for our patients. Working in a very innovative way, they have moved the service from failing all standards to meeting all standards. This is an example of how we can work very differently to address our challenges.
